Electric Blue Eyes Are on the Menu this Summer!

Summer is here and the NYFW runway was electrified with plenty of melanin adding just a dash of winged liner. Celebs like Chanel brand ambassador Willow Smith and even supermodels like Joan Smalls have been spotted sporting a hue of blues this season. Summer beauty is known for bright dewy skin and a supple pout. A surge of blue winged liner graced plenty of runways for Spring/Summer collections ranging from Jeremy Scott to even Givenchy. Blue is a hue that compliments all shades from fair to deep like denim that every woman should have in her makeup bag prepped and ready for a girls night out or #GirlBoss day full of plots on taking the world by storm. Eyeliner on the other hand can still be a skill to master if it's not an every day essential. The flair to this trend other than its color is the seamless wing. Winged liner has defeated several women time and time again but there are ways to pull off the look in an instant with three gratifying steps: make your mark lining each eye, create your angle, then fill.

Since the steps aren't so hard after all, your next challenge would be to simply find a blue hue and a tool to apply your technique. Whether you opt for a kohl, gel, powder or liquid liner - you'll look fabulous either way! We're here to help you decide on which you should keep handy in order to make sure you rock this trend right!

Need just a pencil? Less is more, especially when you're just playing around with new looks. If you're not that invested into the trend full gusto, try a pencil like Clinique's skinny stick in Royal Blue ($16.50) for a simple mistake-proof wing but eye-catching brilliance of color. The great thing about this product is it is perfect for tight-lining which hugs your lash line for a thicker and fuller lash look.

We've done our research in multiple beauty departments and come to the revelation that the best kohl liner in town is the Rock 'n' Kohl liner by Charlotte Tilbury in Marlene Midnight ($27) which doubles as a great liner to smudge for a more edgy look. The hue on this eyeliner is a deep indigo which pairs well for a night out in the city.

Now liquid liner has amazing precision but can be a nightmare if not applied with a tender touch. We recommend using the Aqua Liner Liquid Liner by Make Up For Ever in colors 5 Diamond Turquoise Blue or 6 Iridescent Navy Blue ($23) for looks that's are literally day and night. Whether you choose a vibrant lighter hue or deeper subtle tone, the product has such great color intensity and a angled applicator. The liner being waterproof is always a perk for those high temps lounging around the pool or bar hopping in the late evening hours.

Beauty can really break your bank but our gel liner pick is just a store run away. Grab a bold cobalt with a dab of shimmer with our gel liner pick, Maybelline's Eye Studio Lasting Drama Waterproof Gel Pencil in Lustrous Sapphire ($9). Yes it's a mouth full but you'll thank us later after giving it a go for yourself. The pencil is true to color giving you a fresh and amplified winged liner with the perk of long staying power.

Last but certainly not least is the evolution of liner mishaps: powder. Powder liners are fairly new to the beauty industry but are great for the pros that have been using their palettes relentlessly with water and a good brush. Our favorite liner thus far has been Bobbi Brown's Intense Pigment Liner in Midnight ($36). For the ladies who work hard for their monies, the item is on the pricier side of the spectrum but is worth the coins for those seeking a liner with the deepest and darkest color payoff. Plus it's Limited Edition so you can have the exclusive upper hand.

Made your mind up yet?! If not, grab them all for a maximum amount of looks or try one at a time to see which is the fit for you. PRO TIP: When swatching colors on your hand or wrist, place color on and wait for product to settle into the skin and dry for a couple of minutes to see its true color.

Have you been rocking the blue hue? Which brand of cosmetics makes your favorite shade of blue?

Until Next Time . . . Remain Beautiful!
